Amanda Spinks really rocks. If you enjoy this article, you may want to dig up some of her academic work.

Good article, but I wish there was more interpretation of the results.

I know I haven’t changed my search habits much in the time I’ve been online. I would like to, but I’m not exactly sure how to go about doing that. When I first got online, I could put a few words in and get pages of relevant links. Now those same words give me pages of sponsored links and paid rankings that are only slightly related to my search. I look at the first few pages and give up. With the slanted results (due to paid positioning), I’m not exactly sure what will really be effective — and give me what I’m looking for rather than a related commercial.
