I just tripped across movable type, and I think it has what I want in blog management system. With the redesign on the horizon, I smell convergence. things I’d love, if anyone has time to help:

anyone use movable type and have feedback on it? (I know it’s not released yet)

anyone have time to help me build the css layout of the page? I’m really stuck.

I’ve come across several already released blog management systems, and the one that’s getting most of the praise is PostNuke (at postnuke.org). They seem to have a rather large support base and so you shouldn’t have too much trouble installing it. I don’t use it myself, but perhaps you’d like it.

meir: is there a list with reviews of the blog management programs? I’m just leaning toward moveable type because it does everything i want and is in perl.

Nate: I do hang out on the greymattter message board (under the nom de plume Madam Sarrazin, for giggles) and many of the hack and mods I need are not available or stable. Of course we have yet to see what type will bring. And of course Noah’s no longer working on it is some cause for concern…

There sure is a site with reviews. Those type of scripts are called CMSs (content management script) and you can find reviews of such scripts in all scripting languages in hotscripts.com – just search there for content management scripts under whatever programming language your host supports.
