But I will say that the icons are a bit dismaying. They are not intuitable, and one is a misuse of a known icon for “new document.” Unlabeled non-standard teensy icons seem like potential trouble to me. But to each, his/her own!

    Hey there!
Please note that there are several other icons in the collection which can be used. The ones I chose are simply ones I thought would work well on my site. There are quite a few different ones.

The icons were actually not designed for blog use; they were done by Mr. iaslash himself “for an X-Windows CRM application.” In that context, they make more sense. Including BlogMetaData with every post is interesting, though, and there are many ways to do it, either with Michael’s icons, plain text, or your own icons.

I do like the implementation of functionality but IMHO the actual design of the icons are too dependent on mouse overs to indicate what they’re used for. I’m going to play with some of this on my test blog (the continually broken one) and see what sticks.

The actual tutorial is execellent though and David deserves praise for sharing.

Yes! absolutely! It is an incredibly cool concept, and the patience, attention and effort to write up a good tutorial should be applauded
