Two additions were made: I worked closely with the lead designer to come up with this solution, allowing each free card to easily be turned into a paid one. I'm particularly proud of the addition of the logos, which launched pop-up windows containing descriptions of each gift certificate provider, thus acting as both an ad and a useful tool for the user as s/he tried to chose a good gift certificate.


This was the moment when user's goals (to send a card to make someone happy) and the business goals (to maintain free sends while adding paid ones) became one in the interface.
