would you buy ia
from this man?

Links, links, links... It's a joke for me to have a links section, since my entire site is almost solid links. Yet here we are.

Information Architecture

The primo-supremo Information Architecture site is ACIA of course. Be sure to check out Strange connections, from Peter Morville. Less of a how-to and more of a thinking-about.

Jesse James Garrett's IA resource list is invaluable if you want to get your head around the growing art of Information Architecture. Be certain to take a close look at his original work. You'll be quizzed later.

Peter tries to call a cab
in San Francisco.

peterme.com: Peterme a.k.a. Peter Merholz is a friend and pundit and amiable visionary who has more than a few brilliant insights into user-centered design processes. I'm always digging madly through his site trying to relocate this article in particular, which is about as close to my dream methodology as anything I've ever seen.

Nadav. Click here to visit antenna
I like bugs, sure...

Antenna is a weblog that snuck up on me... first I was visiting it here and there, then a couple times a week, then suddenly it was a daily. Nadav always has something interesting to say, or a useful link.

v-2 is great for longer essays on the philosophy of Information Architecture. Adam takes the 5000 foot look at IA.

Hanna Hodge is where it's at for cutting-edge user experience architecture (whatever that is...). The blog is terrific, articles insightful, and the presentions are top-notch.

Don't forget to peek at the nascent Carbon Log, from the all-IA team at Carbon IQ.

InteractionArchitect sports a small collection of outstanding articles on user-centered design and IA, including ones on trust and on fighting for UC design.

Usability & User-centered processes

Usable Web is amazing search engine for user centered design and usability.

Usability Toolbox is probably the single best resource for learning about the range of methods for user-centered design.

Ask Tog: always an interesting resource for interface design tips. I was particularly taken by his column on hiring design firms.

goodexperience.com Mark Hurst's forum on the state of the net.. I don't always agree with him, but I like his emphasis on a more holistic approach to user centered design, rather than falling into the trap of only thinking about usability or IA or...

Cooper Interactive's Inspiration page has articles, excerpts from Alan Cooper's books and and archive of their newsletter.

And of course I read Jakob regularly... but you already knew about the czar of usability, didn't you? ;-)
