expedia-paris-guide.jpgI’m leaving for Europe on wednesday, and bought my ticket through expedia. Today I recieved a travel guide for my destination, Paris. Wisely Expedia did not just push their services, they included weather, info about an upcoming art show and various tourist diversions. And of course, at the bottom, they suggest hotels. But the timing is right and the approach was classy.

I have had major issues with Expedia’s time-out settings. For those not on a DSL or fast dialup connection trying to just register and buy a ticket could be a huge nightmare filled with double billings and repeating sessions several times until all needed data has been captured just to register.

I only got “Unfortunately, we do not support the browser you are currently using. For best results, we suggest that you use Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 or later or Netscape Navigator version 6.1 or later.” when I tried to use it.

But of course. your point was not that everything about expedia was great, but that they did this particular thing right. And that I agree with.
